1. 2025 Ingram Prize – Annual Emerging Artist Purchase Prize
Location: London, United Kingdom
Application Deadline: September 15, 2025 (5 p.m. BST)

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Ingram Prize is an annual UK art award open to visual artists within five years of graduating from a UK art school. Entry is free and all mediums and sizes are welcome, making it an inclusive opportunity for emerging talent. All shortlisted finalists will exhibit their work at Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop in London in late November 2025, where three winners will be announced at the opening event. Each winning work is purchased for The Ingram Collection, and one prize recipient will also earn a solo exhibition at The Lightbox gallery in 2026. Finalists additionally contend for a special Founder’s Award (an extra acquisition by the collection) and other perks – including a showcase at London Art Fair 2026 and funded residencies in Tuscany and rural England – that further support their careers
2. Contemporary Reflection Art Exhibition
Location: London, United Kingdom
Application Deadline: November 1, 2025

Contemporary Reflection is a first-edition curated exhibition inviting artists across all disciplines to explore the complexities of modern life, identity, and cultural transformation. This international open call welcomes innovative work in any medium, challenging creators to interpret the personal, societal, environmental, and digital issues shaping today’s world. Selected artworks will be showcased in a week-long group exhibition at Cornerstone Studios in London, running December 1–7, 2025. There is a £20 submission fee to enter and exhibiting artists should note that a standard commission applies to any sales during the show.
3. PHOTOcentric 2025: “State of Our Union”
Location: Garrison, New York, USA
Application Deadline: September 4, 2025

PHOTOcentric 2025: State of Our Union is a juried photography open call organized by Garrison Art Center that invites powerful images exploring life in the United States over the past decade. In an era of deep social and political polarization, this exhibition seeks photographs that reflect the diverse realities, struggles, hopes, and contradictions of American life from 2015 to 2025. The call is open to amateur and professional photographers (age 18 and up) working in any photographic medium. Approximately 30 works will be selected by juror Alan Haywood across three categories – People, Places, and Politics – and the chosen images will be exhibited at Garrison Art Center from November 1 to 23, 2025. A total of $1,000 in awards is available (three $250 First Place prizes, and one $250 Best in Show) to recognize outstanding entries. Note that there is a $30 entry fee for each submissio.
4. “Evolving” – MONSTER Exhibition Berlin 2026
Location: Berlin, Germany
Application Deadline: September 30, 2025

MONSTER Exhibition is an international art project that uses the metaphor of the “monster” (kaiju in Japanese culture) to address themes of fear, crisis, and transformation. Now in its 13th edition, titled “Evolving,” the exhibition will take place in April 2026 at the historic Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin, exploring ideas of evolution, inner turmoil, ecological instability, and social change through contemporary art. Launched in Japan in 2013 (in the wake of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami), MONSTER Exhibition has since traveled to major cities worldwide – and the upcoming Berlin edition will foster cultural dialogue between German and Japanese artists under this dynamic theme. This open call is only open to artists currently residing in Germany (any age or nationality). Creators in any medium – from painting and photography to sculpture, installation, and more – may submit one work interpreting the theme “Evolving.” An application fee of €25 (€15 for students) is required, but there is no participation fee, and the exhibition is non-commercial (no sales of artworks). Selected Germany-based artists will exhibit their piece alongside works by Japanese participants, with events and viewings scheduled April 9–12, 2026 (plus a preview on April 8).
Each of these opportunities — from the Ingram Prize in the UK to MONSTER Exhibition Berlin — represents more than just an open call. They are carefully built platforms designed to expand artistic practice, visibility, and dialogue. Together, they highlight the many ways in which contemporary art thrives: through recognition of emerging talent, through critical reflections on our time, through photography that documents a nation’s truth, and through international projects that tackle cultural fears and transformations.
For artists, applying to these calls is not only about winning or being selected. It’s about clarifying your practice, honing your proposals, and situating your voice in larger conversations. Even when the outcome isn’t immediate recognition, the act of applying is an exercise in defining your path, and that clarity can be as valuable as the opportunity itself.
As deadlines approach, give yourself the time and focus to put forward thoughtful, authentic submissions. Think of each application as a chance to claim your place within a broader artistic dialogue — whether in a gallery, a public space, or an international platform.
Art thrives on risk, on the willingness to step forward into the unknown. These opportunities are open doors; the next step is yours.
