Clio Art Fair has opened Early Bird applications for its May 2027 editions in Chelsea, offering independent artists the chance to exhibit directly in New York. Abrons Arts Center is inviting early-career New York City artists to apply for a 20-month studio residency on the Lower East Side. The Pollock-Krasner Foundation continues to offer unrestricted grants of up to $50,000 to professional visual artists, while Singapore Art Museum is accepting applications for a new cycle of international residencies centered on artistic research, experimentation, education, and curatorial practice.

Clio Art Fair has opened applications for its 26th and 27th editions, taking place across two consecutive programs in Chelsea, New York:

Known as the “Anti-Fair for Independent Artists,” Clio Art Fair focuses on artists working without exclusive gallery representation and provides a direct platform to present work to collectors, curators, art professionals, and the public.
Applications are reviewed by Clio Art Fair’s Curatorial Board, and selected artists are offered different exhibition options depending on the level of support and space required.
All exhibition plans begin at 5 feet of wall space. Available participation options include Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, with services varying across each plan.
Included services may cover VIP passes, online visibility through ClioArtFair.com, social media exposure, lighting, art handling, wall labeling, storage during the fair week, and, for higher-tier plans, the presence of Clio Art Fair’s Art Dealers throughout the event.

2. Abrons Arts Center 2027–2028 Visual Artist AIRspace Residency

Abrons Arts Center is accepting applications for its 2027–2028 Visual Artist AIRspace Residency, a long-term program supporting three early-career visual artists based in New York City. The residency runs for 20 months and includes fully subsidized studio space at Abrons Arts Center’s Lower East Side facility, an honorarium, materials support, studio visits, professional development opportunities, and mentorship. Each resident will be paired with an established artist mentor who previously participated in the AIRspace program. Mentors for this cycle include Park McArthur, Baseera Khan, and Elliott Jerome Brown Jr.
The program is designed for artists who are actively developing and sharing original work but have not yet had extensive access to exhibitions, residencies, or other major professional opportunities. Applicants must live in one of New York City’s five boroughs and remain based in the city throughout the residency period. They must also not be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the residency.
Residents are expected to maintain an active studio practice, participate in regular cohort meetings, engage consistently with their mentors, and contribute to public programming through workshops, open studios, masterclasses, or other educational activities. The residency concludes with a group exhibition at Abrons Arts Center, giving participants the opportunity to present work developed during the program. 3. Pollock-Krasner Foundation Artist Grants

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Artist Grants support professional visual artists who need financial resources to continue developing their practice.

Eligible expenses may include materials, studio rent, exhibition costs, production, professional development, and living expenses connected to sustaining an active artistic practice.
The grants are intended for professional artists working primarily in painting, sculpture, and works on paper who can demonstrate a significant and ongoing commitment to their work.
Applicants should also have an active exhibition record in galleries, museums, or comparable professional settings.
Students are not eligible, and certain artistic disciplines fall outside the Foundation’s funding focus.

The new cycle is organized around three thematic strands:

Making / Material Cultures
Beyond Human / Interdependence
Applicants are invited to interpret these themes through their own practice and proposed research.
Three residency pathways are available. The Artist Residency supports new artistic research and experimentation. The Community & Education Residency focuses on practices connecting art, learning, and community engagement. The Curatorial & Research Residency supports new approaches to exhibition-making, research, and curatorial methodologies.
International residents may undertake a residency lasting one to three months and receive a monthly stipend of S$1,500, roundtrip economy airfare, housing, and assistance with visa arrangements.
Singapore-based residents may participate for up to six months and receive a monthly stipend of S$1,500 plus a S$250 local allowance.
Applicants must submit a CV or résumé, portfolio, a 500–1,000 word statement of interest, and a recommendation.
