Surveying four decades of paintings from 1960 to 1992, the exhibition features more than twenty of Frankenthaler’s largest, most ambitious works. CLIO ART FAIR MAY 2026 @511 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001 May 7–10 & May 14–17, 2026
Clio Art Fair, the leading independent art fair that champions self-represented artists, returns to Chelsea this spring with two consecutive editions: May 7–10 and May 14–17, 2026. Each week will feature a completely new roster of 35+ international artists and artist collectives, offering collectors, curators, and the public a fresh and diverse experience across both weekends. Clio Art Fair continues to break the mold of traditional art fairs by providing a high-visibility platform for artists without exclusive gallery representation. Focused on direct connection, authenticity, and discovery, Clio has become a must-attend event for those seeking what’s next in contemporary art.

BANKSY - BLIND PATRIOTISM @WATERLOO PLACE, ST. JAMES'S, LONDON APRIL 30, 2026 The Light That Shines Through the Universe is a 30-foot-tall sandstone homage to the Bamiyan Buddhas, two 6th-century monumental statues in central Afghanistan that were destroyed in 2001 by the Taliban. Nguyen symbolically casts the Buddha’s hands, missing from the original monuments long before their final destruction, from brass artillery shells. They are arranged in mudras—or ritual gestures—that express fearlessness in compassion. The work’s title is a direct reference to the nickname used by local communities for the larger of the two Buddhas: “Salsal,” which means “the light that shines through the universe.” This broken, rebuilt, resilient figure suggests the use of memory and the concept of reincarnation as a tool for renewal and healing.
