In Chelsea

CLIO ART FAIR SEPTEMBER 2026 @511 WEST 25TH STREET, NEW YORK 17–20 SEPT, 2026 & 24–27 SEPT, 2026 Clio Art Fair returns to Chelsea this September for its 24th and 25th editions, bringing together a diverse selection of independent contemporary artists from New York and around the world. Across two consecutive editions, visitors can discover painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, and performance, with works exploring themes of identity, memory, resilience, experimentation, and personal expression.

The September program also features “I Don’t Want To Be Useful,” Clio Art Fair’s performance program exploring artistic freedom beyond productivity, function, and expectation. Taking place at 511 West 25th Street in Chelsea, the fair continues its mission of giving independent artists a platform to present their work directly to collectors, art professionals, and the public.

...AND THE COSMOS RETURNS TO CLAIM ITS PLACE @NARS FOUNDATION 28 AUG 2026 - 25 SEP 2026 …and the Cosmos returns to claim its place is a large-scale installation exploring humanity’s relationship with the cosmos and the unknown. Hand-moulded black metallic foil sculptures, cast from tree roots and branches, converse with handmade translucent paper, yielding a suspended realm of shadow and light. Evoking a celestial theatre, the work invites viewers to wander beneath an atmospheric canopy where darkness and luminosity converge, prompting reflection on otherness, transformation, and regeneration. In Brooklyn

POINT OF NO RETURN - JAMES PARKER FOLEY @TRANSMITTER 22 AUG 2026 - 27 SEP 2026

Transmitter is pleased to present Point of No Return, a solo exhibition by James Parker Foley. Made across a period of profound personal transformation, this exhibition brings together two bodies of drawings; a group of graphite images begun during a residency in Mississippi in October 2022, and a subsequent body of colored pencil works begun in October 2023.

GUARDIAN SPIRIT - WOODY DE OTHELLO @BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK THROUGH MARCH 8, 2027 For his first solo outdoor exhibition in New York City, Woody De Othello (b. 1991, Miami, Florida) presents Guardian Spirit, comprising four recent large-scale bronzes and three new totemic redwood sculptures. This exhibition highlights the artist’s ongoing exploration of nkisi—ritual objects from Western and Central Africa that embody spiritual presences and channel protective or healing forces. Othello approaches sculpture making through a tender focus on the world around us, highlighting the emotional force behind the objects and rituals that shape our daily lives.   Discover more
