VERMEER'S LOVE LETTERS @THE FRICK COLLECTION 18 JUN - 31 AUG, 2025 The unprecedented installation of paintings united in the exhibition Vermeer’s Love Letters pairs the Frick’s Mistress and Maid with special loans of the Rijksmuseum’s Love Letter and the National Gallery of Ireland’s Woman Writing a Letter with Her Maid. Their presentation together in a single gallery for the first time offers visitors an opportunity to consider Vermeer’s treatment of the theme of letters as well as his depiction of women of different social classes. This exhibition is generously funded by the Jasmine Charity Trust in memory of Regina Jaglom Wachter. Discover more

IN SEARCH OF TRANSCENDENCE - SOHAN QADRI

@SUNDARAM TAGORE GALLERY 12 JUN - 11 JUL, 2025 We are pleased to present a selection of paintings by Sohan Qadri (b. 1932, India – d. 2011, Canada), one of the only internationally acclaimed artists deeply engaged with spirituality. Qadri abandoned representation early on in his long career, incorporating Tantric symbolism and philosophy into his vibrantly colored minimalist paper works. Sundaram Tagore met Sohan Qadri in 1997 and has represented him internationally for nearly thirty years. When Sundaram Tagore Gallery opened in SoHo in 2000, Qadri was among the first of a select group of master artists Sundaram added to his roster. All were outside the dominant Western art-historical canon, but were in Sundaram’s estimation groundbreaking and working with a universal visual language that crossed geographic borders. He believed then, as he does now, that it was imperative to bring such cross-cultural work to a wide audience.

SELVEDGE

@ORTEGA Y GASSET PROJECTS 21 JUN - 16 AUG, 2025 Ortega y Gasset Projects proudly presents our first curatorial open call exhibition SELVEDGE a group show curated by Lauren Klenow featuring the work of Robin Crookall, Brynda Glazier, Miriam Jonas, Lauren Klenow, MaryKate Maher, Caroline Sebilleau, Erin Shirreff, Alina Tenser, Allyce Wood. SELVEDGE explores the imagery of portals and pathways across a collection of abstract sculpture, photography, and two dimensional works. The illusory spaces in these artworks recall the environments that are real and can be inhabited. They also imagine spaces yet to be visited. This allows for visual intersections of time, memory, and materiality.

AUNTIES - FITGI SAINT-LOUIS @NYC DOT, MANHATTAN

16 MAY, 2025 - APR 2026

With Aunties, Fitgi Saint-Louis honors the women who passionately nurture and embolden the Harlem community. In Harlem, these cultivators of culture, organizers, and style icons have fearlessly called the community to action across generations. This assembly of large-scale figures reflects the monumental spirit of those uplifting the neighborhood. Created with layers of wood, the vibrantly painted material is a reminder of heritage craft traditions and connection to land. Aunties is intentionally positioned with open space between figures to invite people to stand with them. The installation recognizes the continued contributions of aunties to the collective fabric in the past, present and future. Discover more
