CIRCLES, SPOKES, ZIGZAGS, RIVERS - GRACE ROSARIO PERKINS
@WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART 18 OCT, 2025-08 FEB, 2026
ircles, Spokes, Zigzags, Rivers brings together nine recent paintings and a large-scale sculpture by Grace Rosario Perkins (b. 1986; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Akimel O’odham/Diné). The title of the exhibition describes petroglyphs that connect the artist’s family to her tribal homelands in the southwestern United States, including the vital, yet threatened, waters of the Gila River and Rio Grande. The influence of such longstanding technologies of visual storytelling is evident in Perkins’s symbol-rich art. Flowers, stars, the sun, and spider webs are given significant presence within the systems the artist creates to record her life. Discover more

REMINDER: THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE
@THE BISHOP GALLERY 01 NOV - 31 DEC 2025
The Bishop Gallery proudly announces its upcoming group exhibition, “Reminder: The Children Are Our Future”. This timely and heartfelt exhibition gathers a powerful roster of artists whose works reflect a universal truth: the well-being of our children determines the destiny of our world. Born from the recognition that innocent children continue to suffer from the consequences of conflict, inequality, and division, “Reminder” invites audiences to pause and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect and uplift the next generation. Whether addressing the devastation of war, the impact of displacement, or the emotional toll of societal neglect, the exhibition insists that hope and innocence must remain sacred — and that by centering children in our choices today, we shape a brighter, more compassionate tomorrow.

TORKWASE DYSON: AKUA @BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK, PIER 1 06 MAY, 2025 - 08 MAR, 2026
Torkwase Dyson’s Akua is a large, open pavilion with an immersive multi-channel soundscape. Visitors may enter and experience recorded sounds moving across eight speakers, including layered conversations from Black archives, nature field recordings, and electronic sounds. For Dyson (b. 1973, Chicago), sound is a physical vibration that can connect our bodies to our surroundings. The title Akua is inspired by the name of a family member; Akua means “born on Wednesday” in West African Akan tradition.
