RICHARD DIEBENKORN

Gagosian is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Richard Diebenkorn at 980 Madison Avenue in New York, opening on November 8, 2025. Organized in partnership with the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation and curated by Jasper Sharp, the exhibition inaugurates Gagosian’s representation of Diebenkorn. This marks a return of the distinguished American painter, draftsman, and printmaker’s work to the location, as the gallery presented eleven Ocean Park paintings there from November 1992 to January 1993—the artist’s final exhibition of paintings before his death in March 1993. HISTORY PAINTING - LI SONGSONG

Pace is pleased to present History Painting, an exhibition of new paintings by the Beijing-based artist Li Songsong, at its 540 West 25th Street gallery in New York from November 7 to December 20. Showcasing a selection of paintings created this year, the presentation will spotlight Li’s enduring engagement with history as both inspiration and substance for his work. History Painting will be accompanied by an exhibition booklet from Pace Publishing featuring an essay by the gallery’s Curatorial Director, Xin Wang. Discover more

Borrowing artifacts, mythology, botanicals and animals from Roman and Asian culture, Kimin Kim and Christine Jung account for stolen hours and unrecorded tears, returning afflictions by a quiet hexing of water.

RECESS: READS - FITZHUGH KAROL

Union Square Partnership (USP), in collaboration with NYC Parks is pleased to present Recess: Reads, a vibrant steel sculpture by New York-based artist Fitzhugh Karol, installed prominently at Triangle Plaza in Union Square. Recess: Reads will be located just steps from the district once known as New York City’s “Book Row,” a literary commercial corridor formerly home to over three dozen booksellers between Union Square and Astor Place. This large-scale work invites New Yorkers and visitors alike to pause, play, and discover new perspectives on a familiar cityscape through its bold form and joyful presence. The sculpture will be unveiled at Triangle Plaza in Union Square on November 19th.
