CLIO ART FAIR SEPTEMBER 2026

Clio Art Fair returns to Chelsea this September for its 24th and 25th editions, bringing together a diverse selection of independent contemporary artists from New York and around the world. Across two consecutive editions, visitors can discover painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, and performance, with works exploring themes of identity, memory, resilience, experimentation, and personal expression.
The September program also features “I Don’t Want To Be Useful,” Clio Art Fair’s performance program exploring artistic freedom beyond productivity, function, and expectation. Taking place at 511 West 25th Street in Chelsea, the fair continues its mission of giving independent artists a platform to present their work directly to collectors, art professionals, and the public.

A KING'S CARPET: LOUIS XIV AND THE SAVONNERIE @THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART 08 SEPT, 2026 - 05 MAR, 2028 In 1668, King Louis XIV of France commissioned the Paris-based Savonnerie manufactory to create the largest carpet ever woven. Composed of 92 individual pieces, the carpet was intended to cover the full span of the Grande Galerie of the Louvre, measuring 440 meters, six times the length of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Not only was it a bold and unprecedented undertaking, but a unique chapter in the history of art. Discover more

JUNGLE BLISS - BORINQUEN GALLO @HUDSON RIVER MUSEUM 18 SEPT, 2026 - 14 MAR, 2027
This immersive installation functions as a powerful visual metaphor, examining the tensions between nature and artifice, permanence and transience, and individual responsibility and collective action. In the Hudson Valley, invasive species are spreading unchecked and reshaping local forests into dense, jungle-like landscapes; microplastics are polluting local waterways; and real estate development is fragmenting natural habitats. Gallo’s installation draws attention to pressing environmental threats and advocates for the communal stewardship and preservation of Hudson Valley’s ecosystems.

DOGS - CAMILLE HENROT @DORIS C. FREEDMAN PLAZA, CENTRAL PARK 09 SEPT, 2026 - 29 AUG, 2027 For her first public exhibition in New York City, Camille Henrot brings a group of sculptures of dogs to the entrance of Central Park. Building on an existing series, Henrot’s installation includes new sculptures in a variety of materials suited to the outdoors, including bronze, stone, steel, and concrete. Each work is born out of an accumulation of visual references, including Saul Steinberg drawings, Tex Avery cartoons, ancient Egyptian sculpture, dog show competitions, and more. Discover more
