The world is changing rapidly in different ways, in terms of living and forms of life. Most countries their major cities are located on fluid area, where the most part is covered by fluid. As we all know fluidity is the physical property of a substance that enables it to flow, a curator Michel Dewilde said “Fluidity is a kind symbol for change for both sociological and political change, and we are also living in an extremely fluid changeable society”. there is one place called liquid city in Belgium where Bruges is found, Bruges is the capital of West Flanders in northwest Belgium, is distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings. Its port, Zeebrugge, is an important Centre for fishing and European trade.
The Bruges triennial invited international artists and architects to come up with ideas that can bring change to this fluid city. Many artists and architects sought of inspiring their work in the role of liquidity in the city this is literally crisscrossed and surrounded by water. The water ways that earns Bruges its international renown, becomes a metaphor for liquid city, works installation and meeting centre have been put up in the city, and they form hospitable routes that brings people together in unexpected spots. This is one of the objectives for Bruges, this one is also a challenge that people should not only view artwork but also to experience them and become creative about them.
People in Belgium are grateful for the installation of the triennial, and therefore it will be easier for them to access them for different purposes. This will make people think about the city in different ways and act certain things in positive forms, in future people will have legacy for 21st century and the transformation of the world. This is why we have to admit the world is changing in artistic way therefore art work should be appreciated and promoted in every way. The Bruges Triennial reflects the city as an opportunity to artist in exploring their artwork in different ways in the society, the cooperation of artist and architects brings people together in the field of artwork. The Bruges also promotes and embraces the liquidity cities, and also tries to show the world how Artwork brings beauty in the world, therefore the liquid city will have clear history on artwork, and how it has bring change socially, economically and politically. The artwork done in liquid city, therefore makes the hidden city of a place recognizable by different people, also be visible in different point of views. This creates new ideas in the society, and also employment where people will be employed in participation of building those triennial.
Without forgetting challenges that might come during this constructions, in case of rain which causes destructions of property some of artists have ideas on constructing vacuums in water for safety purposes, in these concept thanks Bruges triennial for bringing art and architecture together to create a better society and showing people the real picture of art.
