Welcome back to our weekly appointment with opportunities from the art world. This week we have collected for you the 3 best opportunities for artists, two in the US and one in the Netherlands, in order to keep an intercontinental outreach.

1. The Leeway Transformation Award


The Leeway Transformation Award (LTA) provides unrestricted annual awards of $15,000 to women, trans*, and gender nonconforming artists and cultural producers living in greater Philadelphia who create art for social change and have done so for the past five years or more, demonstrating a long-term commitment to social change work.

The award is unrestricted (it is not project-based) and open to artists and cultural producers working in any medium, including traditional and nontraditional as well as multimedia and experimental forms.

2. Velvetpark Residency


Velvetpark Residency is a project based work-studio, awarded through a selection process by open application. It is open to LGBTQ+ writers and visual artists to complete a proposed project.

The studio will be awarded bi-yearly, and will alternate between writers Winter/Spring, and visual artists Summer/Fall respectively. This schedule will continue to alternate into the ensuing years.

Its mission is to serve as a safe space for expression, exploration, and intellectual debate about issues pertaining to the broad spectrum of the LGBTQI community. It is invested in promoting and disseminating the artistic, literary, intellectual, and spiritual work LGBTQI people.

3. WEP Summer Residency


Foundation WEP is an exhibition space, studio building and artist-in-residence for contemporary art close to the city center of Groningen. WEP is a non-profit organization that aims to support and assist artists in the development of their practice and the production of new work and promote exchanges between local, national and international artists, cultural institutions and the public.

They are offering one residency a year: the WEP summer residency that concludes with a public presentation of the working period on the last weekend.
