THE GATHERERS
@MOMA PSI 24 APR - 06 OCT, 2025 The Gatherers brings into focus current artistic practices grappling with global waste and excess. Featuring fourteen international artists—many showing for the first time in a US museum—the exhibition includes sculptural installation, assemblage, painting, video, and performance. While artists have rummaged for centuries, the exhibition underscores how retooling detritus has new meaning for a generation contending with the impacts of recent world orders, such as the ongoing fallouts and failures of globalization and neoliberalism. Artists in The Gatherers render politics as spatialized in the built environment, drawing attention to how histories reverberate into the future. Discover more

MENDING MY GARDEN - BORINQUEN GALLO
@ALESSANDRO BERNI GALLERY 22, MAY - 29 JUN, 2025 Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to present Mending My Garden, a solo exhibition of new work by New York-based artist Borinquen Gallo, on view from May 29 through June 29, 2025 at the gallery’s Chelsea location. In Mending My Garden, Gallo brings together a series of intricate sculptural installations that reframe our relationship to waste, beauty, and resilience. Through a meticulous and deeply process-driven approach, Gallo transforms disposable, everyday materials—trash bags, debris netting, caution tape—into visually striking weavings and spatial interventions. The exhibition underscores her ongoing commitment to uncovering meaning in what we typically overlook.

HEAVEN KNOWS - CAROLINE GARCIA
@A.I.R. GALLERY
31 MAY - 29 JUN, 2025
A.I.R. Gallery is pleased to announce Heaven Knows, a solo exhibition by 2024–2025 A.I.R. Fellow Caroline Garcia. Garcia is the 2024–2025 Louise H. McCagg Fellow, named annually in honor of artist, philanthropist, feminist, and mother Louise H. McCagg (1936–2020). Borrowing from neuroscience and mourning rituals from Indigenous Philippine folk religions, Heaven Knows considers how grief compels the brain to enter a state of motivation through a yearning for the lost connection. Garcia applies this research to her own personal narrative to create a neural remapping of her grief, one which travels through the realm of instinct to find meaning in new and metaphysical realities. Clay artifacts and a holographic installation draw on both ancient and digital technologies to participate in a nonlinear continuum that carries the living past forever forward.
